Tucked on the southwest side of South Molle Island, Sandy Bay is a quiet, well-protected anchorage with a beautiful stretch of sand and easy access to walking trails.

How to get there:
Pick up a public mooring in Sandy Bay (mooring only)
Best visited with an understanding of tidal movement
Access the beach via tender

Why you’ll love it:
✨ Protected bay — comfortable and calm in the right conditions
✨ Isolated beach — a peaceful spot away from busier anchorages
✨ Walking trails — access to some of South Molle’s best tracks
✨ Easy day stop — great for swimming, relaxing, and exploring
✨ Facilities ashore — picnic tables and toilets available

Pro tip: Be aware of the back current running south from Ker Point. Pack a lunch and make the most of the shaded picnic area between swims — it’s an easy, relaxed way to spend the day.

With the annual Humpback Whale migration almost upon us, I thought it was a good time to give you some great news.

We have been assisting our good friend Glen at Whale Watching Whitsundays over the past few years, particularly since Covid caused a few hiccups in travel restrictions for him.

We are very pleased to announce that we have recently purchased this business from Glen and will commence marketing Whale Watching Whitsundays along with our own branding.

Training on your Whitsundays Bareboat Charter ⚓

All guests complete a 3–4 hour safety & boat briefing before heading out. Beginner crews can arrange extra time if needed.

What’s covered:
✅ Raising sails & dropping anchor
✅ Moorings, tides & navigation
✅ Test sail for confidence and learning
✅ Anything else that's needed

Once you’re confident, the trainer returns to base, leaving you free to continue your holiday 🌊☀️
