company has been engaged by Pacifico (joint venture contractor for the design and construction of the Warrell Creek to Nambucca Heads Pacific Highway upgrade) to provide two to lift very heavy girders cast at the project’s pre-cast facility on Old Coast Road, north Macksville, on the North Coast of NSW in Australia.

The two Straddle Carriers will lift the 180 tonne precast concrete girders out of their moulds to be placed in storage until required. The straddle carriers also then will be used to lift the girders onto trucks for transportation to the construction site.

The engagement is an example of Pacifico’s desire to use local services and providers where possible and recognition that Isoloader is a Mid North Coast company with international credentials in the heavy lifting sector.

Isoloader is offering a used 27 T 4WD Chain Lift Straddle Carrier for 1 high container stacking. This straddle carrier was formerly used for handling precast concrete modules. The Machine includes 4WD and is suitable for flat unpaved sites. "Isoloader Machine 91" specs include Kubota Diesel Engine, Sauer Danfoss Hydrualic Pump, Alford Cylinders and Reynolds Wheel Drives. Isoloader has recently signed an order with Rio Tinto Alcan for the delivery of 3 Ingot Carriers for the modernization of the Kitimat Smelter located in Canada. Based on Isoloader’s proven Transporter range of high-performance straddle carriers, the Ingot Carrier will handle 24 individual bundles of ingots as a single load, weighing a total of 26t. Applied to the Kitimat Wharf operation, the Ingot Carriers will unload the trucks bringing the ingots down from the casting lines, place them in the dockside storage yard, and bring them to the ship cranes during loading.
