Last Wednesday 2nd September, we headed south to Sydney for our overnight theatre escape to see the much-loved Fiddler on the Roof.

After checking into our accommodation, the group had time to settle in and enjoy a few pre-dinner drinks before heading into The Great Southern Bar Bistro for a relaxed dinner together.

Thursday morning began with breakfast and check-out before we made our way over to Westfield Sydney and the Queen Victoria Building. There was plenty of time for a little retail therapy, a coffee or two, some window shopping… or, for a few of the husbands, the all-important search for the nearest “bored husband chair”!

We regrouped at Theatre Royal Sydney, ready for the highlight of our getaway — the matinee performance of Fiddler on the Roof.
And what a performance it was! Full of humour, heart and emotion, the show was brought to life by an incredibly talented cast, with wonderful music, choreography and all the much-loved moments that make Fiddler on the Roof such a timeless favourite.

After the final curtain, it was back aboard the coach and onto the Yellow Brick Road North for our journey home. It may have been a late-night arrival, but after such a fantastic couple of days and an outstanding show, it was certainly well worth it!

Saturday saw us up bright and early as we made our way north to Bris Vegas for a weekend of fun, food and the spectacular Cirque du Soleil | KOOZA! There was plenty of chatter onboard as passengers caught up with familiar faces, made new friends and settled in for the journey up the highway.

Arriving in Brisbane, we checked into the Hotel Grand Chancellor Brisbane, giving everyone a little time to freshen up and get ready for the evening ahead. Dinner was a grand buffet with plenty of variety and certainly something for everyone, before it was time to head off to the Big Top.
And what a night it was! We managed front row parking for Middi — it really doesn’t get much better than that — before making our way inside for the main event. KOOZA was absolutely INCREDIBLE. From the moment the performance began, the whole tent was captivated. The strength, balance, timing, precision and sheer bravery of the performers was extraordinary, with one jaw-dropping act after another leaving us wondering how on earth they do it. There were moments that had everyone holding their breath, others that had us laughing out loud, and plenty that had the audience erupting into applause. The costumes, music, staging and atmosphere all came together brilliantly, but it was the incredible talent of the performers that truly stole the show. Faultless, fearless and completely unforgettable — Cirque du Soleil certainly knows how to put on a performance! With front row parking also meaning first out, we were back on the coach in no time at all — thank you very much!

Sunday morning, after breakfast and checking out, we headed down to Pacific Fair Shopping Centre for a couple of hours of retail therapy and time to grab a bite to eat. Bags a little fuller and wallets perhaps a little lighter, it was then time to start making our way home.
With a couple of comfort stops and passenger drop-offs along the way, we wrapped up what was a fantastic weekend away. Great company, plenty of laughs, a brilliant show and lots of wonderful memories — what more could you ask for?

🎶 What a day of singing, surprises and plenty of smiles! 🎶

The talented bunch from the KWYRE Choir chose Port Bus to head out for a great day of pop-up singing — and what a big day it was!

We kicked things off with an impromptu concert at the Oddfellows Hall in Kempsey before making our way to Trial Bay, where the choir surprised visitors at the historic gaol — and perhaps surprised themselves too — with another pop-up performance. 🎵

After a wonderful response, we headed into the South West Rocks café strip for more entertainment and a well-deserved lunch at the Seabreeze Hotel.

But we weren’t leaving South West Rocks without one more performance! A final pop-up at the local shops had visitors, shoppers and locals stopping to listen, with plenty of applause and smiles all round. 👏

We then made our way back to Port Macquarie with tired voices, happy hearts and a great sense of companionship after such a fun day together.

Thanks to the KWYRE Choir for choosing Port Bus to be part of your musical adventure. ❤️🎶
