I have been into ski boats and waterskiing for well over 40 years and have met my fair share of marine mechanics.
I have NEVER met anyone in this industry that has come close to Serge, Amanda and the team at Sniper Marine.
I managed to "cook" the engine (another story) on my 1974 308 Flightcraft Phantom. The mechanic I was using prior to Sniper disappeared off the face of the earth a few years prior and I really had no idea what to do. Fix it? (could it be fixed?) Get rid of it?
While not being overly mechanically minded, I did know my motor was pretty much done, so started ringing around (car) engine rebuilders from all parts of Melbourne. I quickly found out engines of that era were not easy to find and needed marinising if you did.
A fibreglasser I knew said to me, "you need to call Serge at Sniper Marine.........he will know one way or the other what to do and advise you accordingly". Best day of my marine life.
I took the boat to Serge and together we went on a journey that became more than just an engine rebuild, but a total restoration!
As a result, I now have a "new 50 year old" boat that looks, runs and sounds insanely amazing! It also initiates conversation and comments on the road, petrol stations, boat ramps, etc.
Serge and Amanda are genuine caring people who are passionate about ski boats. They understand the passion ski boat owners have and ensure their clients are happy, often going over and above to achieve this.
Serge is not only a perfectionist, but has an unbelievable knowledge, not only of boats, but all the bits and pieces that go with it - trailers, brakes, towing, waterskis, mooring, etc.
He also had or worked out solutions to any problem I/he encountered on my resto.
He has all the industry connections/contacts which is great if you need fibreglassing, painting, carpeting, upholstering, decals, etc.Sniper is effectively a one stop shop.
They are also very honest, patient and communicative. They ALWAYS return calls even in the peak season and when Serge is talking to you, you have his undivided attention. Further, their prices are very reasonable.
I couldn't be happier with the outcome and am looking forward to many great years of boating with the highly recommended team at Sniper in my corner to ensure so!
