Many thanks to our volunteers and many members of our community who have been helping to clean up a very large tree and redundant play ground equipment over the past few months. Removal of the tree was necessary to ensure a safe area for the new playground being installed January 2026. This is a joint project with the Central Coast Council that will provide our community and visitors with a safer playground for all ages.

Pioneer Park will reopen to camping on the 1st October 2025.

Winter maintenance has been completed and our volunteers have been busy preparing for the coming season.
New playground equipment will be installed hopefully by Christmas to provide a safer and more enjoyable environment for our younger visitors. This is a co funded project with the Central Coast Council and we thank them for their commitment and management of this installation.

Due to escalating energy costs the committee have reluctantly increased the fees for the coming season. Please see the new fees on our page or Web page.

As per the conditions that the park operates under, camping is restricted to a maximum of 4 weeks, campers must vacate for a minimum of 1 week before returning.
We hope to see you once the weather improves. Happy camping.

A massive working bee achievement today as we removed a large dying tree (with council's permission). A huge thankyou to David
Cromack, professional arborist, who volunteered his time and expertise to safely remove this potentially dangerous tree and ensuring a safe environment for all.
Committee members worked tirelessly to ensure branches were mulched and firewood was moved for use next year. Still some tidying up to do and grind the stump, but a very satisfying achievement.
If you need an Arborist we cannot recommend Dave highly enough.
As per previous years we expect to close to camping after the Kings Birthday long weekend (June) and reopen October for the Burnie Show long weekend.
Happy camping.

Sadly we have been forced to close one of our recently renovated shower cubicles in the men’s shower due to vandalism. We hope patience and understanding is exercised while the committee coordinates the necessary council personnel and trades to be able to make repairs in a timely manner.

Opening Update.
Our shower upgrade is now 95% complete, with just a bit of tidying up around the edges to be done. The new southern boundary fence has been completed, with some lawn seed still to be sown down.
We have identified several unsafe trees which pose a major safety concern. These trees will be removed by contractors hopefully in the 4th week of October. Once these are removed we will be able to reopen. Please keep an eye on Facebook as we will post the opening as soon as we can.

Shower upgrade is progressing well but will not be completed in time for us to reopen to camping this coming long weekend.
( October 4th to 6th). The lodge has a new shingle roof and a new boundary fence is progressing well. Thank you to Simon Gardam for removing a number of hazardous stumps from around the park.
Happy long weekend.

Thanks to the hard working helpers who came to our working bee today. Special thanks to Dave our local professional Arborist who spent the day assessing and removing storm damaged branches. Mike Blake took the day off from his Dragon Fly motorcycle hire business to help out and Mick for the pressure cleaning of the huts. Special thanks to Tim the tool man who spent his Birthday replacing damaged garbage bins.
Thanks to our committee members; Helen for cleaning nearly everything, Gerke for removing nearly everything, Carolyn for cooking everything and Scott the tractor work. Team work makes the dream work.

Shower update and planned working bee.
The shower amenities upgrade is progressing and we hope that this project will be completed for our early October opening. Please keep an eye on our page and website for exact dates. We will not be opening for camping until this upgrade is completed.
The committee will be conducting a working bee this Saturday the 21st of September starting 9.30 am to prepare the park for the coming season. Much tidying up is needed after the recent storms and ensuring that the all facilities are cleaned and ready for use. We are a very small volunteer committee and would appreciate any help that people may be able to offer on the day. A sausage sizzle will be provided for lunch for those who are able to help.
