Meet Benny “The Boss”

If you are from rainbow, you probably already know Benny!
He has been our trusted local auto electrician for over 10 years, running Rainbow Beach Auto Electrics and Rainbow Beach 4x4 Accessories with genuine care and dedication.

Will be interesting to see what Gympie Regional Council decide to do here with Easter only about 7 weeks away.

How the times have changed over the last few years. The ocean is slowly swallowing up the point. Someone has really dropped the ball on this one with the access track, this didn't happen over night. Due to the full moon with extremely high tides, Inskip is only accessible certain times of the day. Check out the Manta Ray website or page for run times during this time.

As we head into our busy period here are some of our Frequently Asked Questions answered:

DO I NEED TO BOOK A BARGE IN ADVANCE? While the barge does not sell out you are encouraged to buy your ticket PRIOR TO ARRIVING at the barge. Either online or in our office.

DO I NEED TO BOOK A TIMESLOT? No, once you have a ticket you can proceed to the barge and jump on the next available. The website will ask for a date of travel but not a time.

CAN I CHANGE MY DATE OF TRAVEL? Yes! Just email or call us and we'll update your booking.

CAN I WALK ON AS A FOOT PASSENGER? Yes. It is $10 cash each way paid to the deckhand when you jump on.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO TRAVEL? Two hours either side of the LOW tide provides a wider beach with firmer sand and access around Hook Point.

WHERE CAN I OBTAIN MY PERMITS? If you need to book a vehicle permit or camping permits you can either book on the Queensland National Parks website https://book.parks.qld.gov.au/ or come and see us in the office.

DO I NEED A VEHICLE PERMIT FOR INSKIP POINT? No, only for K'gari.

25th December 6am - 5pm
26th December 5am - 5pm
27th December 5am - 5pm
28th December 5.30am - 5pm

All other days are 6am - 5pm.

If you're needing to pass some time waiting for the tide to go out, how about grabbing your lilo and going for a float down Eli Creek. Set amongst the pandanus and banksia, Eli Creek is a popular picnic and swimming spot!
