Port of Portland is a deep-water bulk port located in south-west Victoria, Australia.

Port of Portland is the international gateway for the Green Triangle Region, an area blessed with an abundance of natural resources. The Port specialises in bulk commodities, particularly agricultural, forestry and mining products as well as aluminium and fertiliser. It has approximately six million tonnes in annual throughput. The export trade includes grain, woodchips, logs, aluminium ingots and

livestock, while import commodities are alumina, liquid pitch and fertiliser products. The Port's close proximity to shipping lanes and deep-water approaches provides unimpeded access right to the entrance of the harbour basin. The Port is served by both road and rail systems, which bypass the Portland township to allow 24-hour access. It delivers $2.5 billion into the region and the nation each year - a figure that will continue to grow.

✨ Elevate Sponsorship – Klay Nicholls ✨

Klay was one of the successful applicants for The Port of Portland’s 2025-2026 Elevate sponsorship program.

Klay was selected to be apart of the AFL Greater Western Victorian Rebels Boys Under 18 Football Team.

Klay says “I am enjoying being apart of the team where I have the opportunity to be coached, mentored and guided by some very experienced football coaches. I am continually developing my knowledge and skills for the game and how to take my football, fitness and mindset to the next level”

It was also announced this week that Klay was selected to represent U18 boys in Vic Country Football.

Congratulations Klay! 🏉

From loading exports to discharging essential imports, there’s plenty happening across the Port. Southern Treasure will load 55,000 tonnes of hard wood chips, while Broadgate discharges 8,200 tonnes of fertiliser.

With 11 arrivals, 7 departures, and 9 commodities in motion, it’s set to be another busy week. 🚢

✨ Elevate Sponsorship – Delaney Hol ✨

Delaney was one of the successful applicants for The Port of Portland’s 2025-2026 Elevate sponsorship program.

Delaney attended the Australian Ballet School, Summer School summer intensive program in Melbourne.

The program involved 5 days of intensive classes in Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary.

“During my time at the Australian Ballet School Summer Program, I learned new techniques and gained valuable insight into what it takes to pursue a professional career in dance. This opportunity has further motivated and inspired me to continue pursuing my goals and aspirations in dance .”

Another busy week ahead on the water! 🌊

It’s shaping up to be a big one at the Port of Portland, with everything from large international cargo vessels to smaller specialised ships set to pass through.

Leading the way will be M.V Brilliant Knight, arriving after 14 days at sea, which is scheduled to load 63,000 tonnes of wheat.

On the smaller end, Fei Run travelled nearly 11,800 km, with plans to discharge 5,500 tonnes of fertiliser.

With a steady flow of ships and commodities expected, it’s set to be full steam ahead! 🚢
