The Dorniers are sold ~ the end of an era, and a bittersweet moment for GAM ✈️✨
GAM first introduced the iconic Dornier 228 to our fleet back in 2005, marking the beginning of an incredible 21-year journey.
From conducting scenic reef tours in Far North Queensland, to supporting FIFO operations during the oil and gas construction boom, and finally serving as dedicated freighters for Toll Group, now TGE, these aircraft have played a significant role in GAM's history.
Over the years, the Dorniers have been instrumental in building our operational capability, supporting our growth and contributing to the success of GAM.
But beyond the flying hours, destinations and contracts, it's the people and memories that make this chapter so special.
The endless stories from pilots, engineers and operational teams still echo through our hangars and across the wider GAM family. These aircraft have certainly left their mark, and the memories will live on long after their departure.
To everyone who has flown, maintained, operated or supported these remarkable aircraft over the past 21 years – thank you. You've all been part of an incredible chapter in GAM's history.
As one chapter closes, another begins. Here's to the Dorniers, the people behind them and the exciting future ahead for GAM!
