urbi Urbi is a social enterprise that is on a mission to make bicycling a first choice mode of transport Changing the way we move is more than a tagline to us.

We facilitate practical, low risk and low cost community focussed initiatives that support bicycling as a sustainable, equal and alternative mode of transport. Our initiatives create create an instant and positive travel behaviour change resulting in direct benefit for the community. It lies at the heart of urbi and is a commitment we make to our partners and communities across Australia. By chang

ing the way we move , we create healthy, active and sustainable towns and cities. We want to inspire and empower local communities to lead the way in choosing the bicycle over the car. Our goals are:
1. To raise awareness that there is an alternative to the current approach to getting people to ride instead of drive.

2. To advocate a collaborative approach that ‘activates’ a community to choosing the bike over the car.

3. To facilitate a grassroots approach to getting a community riding

4. To promote civic leadership, active citizenry, community empowerment & employment.

We saw many bikes spinning at the Town Team Movement’s slow roll on the new extension of the PSP Victoria Street Station to Leighton Beach. Everyone who came to visit definitely deserved the complimentary burger and juice.

Let’s keep those wheels rolling!!!

A 3-year bikeshare pilot program at the City of Joondalup is coming to an end as urbi enters its next business growth stage.

The past year has been challenging on many fronts for many communities and businesses, but it has also provided an opportunity to really think about what is important.

For urbi it is to be true to our purpose of helping create active, healthy and sustainable communities by getting more people to ride a bike instead of drive a car.

Our decision to keep the pilot program operational over the past year has provided us with invaluable data that shows the impact the pandemic has had on the City and it’s community.

By the end of June 2021, urbi will take a staged approach to the termination of its services. The initial stage is in full swing with the removal of the urbi bike stations. This will be closely followed by refunding deposits and outstanding payments.

Urbi would like to thank the City of Joondalup, the participating partners NECA WA, Edith Cowan University (ECU), Lendlease, and Cowan College for the opportunity and support. Together we have achieved and learned a lot.
We look back at this collaboration with fondness and we wish all our friends all the best for the future.

With the recent Covid-19 outbreak through Australia, we wanted to let all our valued riders know that we are still in operation – although we strongly advise you to follow direction of Australian Government to ensure our communities health.

Riding a bike is still a good way to stay healthy and If you do use our bikes, please thoroughly wash your hands before and after riding. Avoid touching your face. Practise social distancing whilst riding, that is being 1.5m away from others.

We hope you all stay safe and healthy during this time, and we look forward to you riding with us soon!

unlike other bike-share

We know bike-share and understand the specific challenges of making it successful in the Australian context.

We work in partnership with business and government to deliver a sustainable system that is flexible and scalable, requiring less upfront capital investment.

urbi bike-share+ extends beyond infrastructure and operations - we activate! Working closely with our partners, we develop and implement travel behaviour change strategies to get people riding and active in the community. We help solve some of the common pain points experienced in so many communities, such as car use, car parking demand and traffic congestion.

Our unique approach makes it possible for a bike-share scheme to be viable in smaller centres and cities, helping to create a vibrant bike riding culture.
