The one thing Adam didn't love about his job was the lack of control given to him to give the extra care and respect he feels the client needs to get through a house move, which, as we all know, rates in the top 5 for stressful life events. For Adam, his favourite part of the job is "relieving the stress". At breaking point he took the plunge and Top Shelf Removals was born; just over a year ago. Along with Pearl, his lovely 7 tonne taught-liner Hino, and an offsider or two, Adam has been putting smiles back on faces of house movers since September 2014. And, that's the sales pitch out of the way...so, what's it going to cost? Easy...
We charge an hourly rate plus a fuel levy -- no depot to depot charge like other removalists! Our rates start at $90 per hour for weekday small deliveries and easy 1 man moves (you get Adam and Pearl), then our rates are calculated on extra man and heavy lift requirement, time and day, location, access, referral, etc. We have a 2 hour minimum, charged from when we get there to when we leave your new home, and a minimum $50 fuel charge which covers the truck getting to you and home again. We're in the Swan Valley, but it doesn't matter where we're coming from, we feel that's something that you shouldn't have to worry about. Of course, the fuel charge will increase for longer distances from our depot, but whether you're in the next suburb or the other side of Perth, or even moving country WA, your fuel charge will be a fraction of the usual depot to depot charge. We simply can't justify charging the same hourly rate for driving the truck as we do when we're sweating it out from truck to house and back again. Unfortunately, there's no way to tell you here how long your job will take...every job is different. From the tree-change retirees to the new home owners, the size of your home and your family, how long you've been in your current home, and if you have any valuable or heavy items, all become factors in determining time, and therefore cost. Give Adam a call and discuss your move with him, he'll be able to give you a good estimate and some invaluable time-saving tips in a 10 minute phone call. When Adam arrives at your home he'll do a quick walk through with you and be able to advise a more solid timeframe, although still an estimate, usually correct to within 60 minutes. For more complicated situations, Adam may need to visit first to be able to quote effectively; this, he does for free. All clients, new and old, are offered our loan boxes and packaging materials free of charge, subject to availability, for the duration of your pack and move.
