A Special Cheer for Children's Book Week 2026

Going for Pippies is a beautifully illustrated new children’s book that follows Wilaraan and his family as they head out on Country to collect pippies for dinner.

A family day out, gathering and cooking at the fire, generations of knowledge shared along the way.

Compiled by Wilaraan at the age of 5, it’s a great little read with some very big stories at its heart. 💛

Our WAITOC man Kyle is really diggin’ his day at Yallalie Downs!

And he wasn’t alone. Community members, school groups and a mighty crew of volunteers joined forces to get an incredible 12,000 native seedlings into the ground, helping create new habitat and a greener future for this special place.

Yallalie Downs is the newest addition to WA’s trailblazing Camping with Custodians program, where campground fees flow back into the local Aboriginal community.

Set on a working cattle station, visitors can look forward to cultural tours, bushfood tastings, Dreaming stories around the campfire and some seriously spectacular stargazing.

12,000 little plants today. One very special campground growing for tomorrow. 🌿✨
