September is Drop Bear awareness month.
This is when they are most active looking for a mate.
This makes them even more aggressive than normal.
Pa was almost taken prematurely by one but fortunately he had taken all the correct precautions.
Tell your friends to look up when out in the bush.
Vegemite behind the ears works well as they do not like the taste.

Drop bears (Thylarctos plummetus) are a species of carnivorous Australian marsupial, renowned for preying on tourists in the bush. Infamous for their mode of attack, new technology is now shedding light…

Great day out on the water with Monkey Mia Boat Hire. Trevor puts on to some great fish and some awesome sites around Dirk Hartog Island and Steep Point.
Had to get pa Hooman to hold my fish as they were to big for me.
If you get the chance give him a go when you are next in the shark Bay area.
Every hooman and their Llama and dog were welcome

Couple of days camped up at Wooramel River Retreat for a bit of relaxing.
Lots of birds and butterfly's.
Took the 4wd out to the coast on the property. Saw a massive mud flat with some large bones resting on top of a small hill. Not sure what they were.
Definitely not Llama though. Few.
Had a look at the old shearing shed and buildings that were last used in 2006.
Back to the retreat for a soak in the artesian baths.
Next stop Denham and the shark bay area.

In Kalbarri now for a couple of days via Port Gregory and the pink lake.
Hopefully some fishing, maybe a mud crab.
Lovely sunset last night.

So after being sick for nearly a week before going away I have a sore back now. Great start to the holidays but hopefully the chiro in Geraldton can get me all llama straightened up.
