Hi everyone.
So I've recently been doing up a trailer with a Haines signature 16' on it. The trailer is oldish but in good condition. After the new axel, suspension, and tyres went on it raises it higher by about 4" - might not seam like much but it's made a huge difference when it comes to launch and recovery. I have to get my whole car in the water while launching out of dunsborough as the ramp is very shallow. So I've spent today making and fitting a hinged extension arm. Pictures are below. It's added 2.5m of distance between the main hitch and car. It's is only for launch and recovery. Will also help when beach launching in shallow bays. when not in use it is swung around and fastened just In front of the wheel arch. It was a fun project and Ive already got a few improvement points for the future.

Good morning all,
So this is a follow up post reviewing blue sea systems "add a battery" I installed and am now running in my own vessel.
I went out on New Years to watch the fire works from the water. Boat was In The water at 4pm, the sound system (head unit, amp, 4 speakers) was in continuos use till 2 am. As was my lowrance 7, after about 7:30pm I had deck lights running and speaker back lit lights. So I had most of my house electrics running for (10hours).
my Mercury 5.7L, 350mag motor was running for about 4 of those 10 hours.
I monitored the batteries separately throughout the the night. And I'm pleased to say the system did not disappoint at all. Very simple and very safe. It performed exactly as it advertised. I will be recommending this product anyone doing big trips, running heavy electrics or overnighters.
Any questions or chasing quotes please feel free to get in touch.

Hope the new year is going well for you all.

Quentin, project boats and bits.

Hi all, yesterday I installed an "add a battery" system from Blue sea systems in my own vessel. Iv always run a standard duel battery isolator switch. But in keeping with the times have upgraded. Feel free to read up on the system but long story short. It monitors both house and crank battery. When the alternator is engaged it charges the crank battery. Once the crank battery is fully charged it automatically allows current to flow to the house battery. No more having to remember to manually switch to bank 1 or bank 2. No more surprise dead crank batter.
I am taking her for a run in a couple of days will be monitoring both battery statuses and will let you all know how it goes.

Hi all hope you're all ready for xmas.
Yesterday afternoon I had a call out to look at someone's electrics. His nav light sounder and vhf were on the blink and the birds nest of crimped and taped joints behind the dash was... Well... not nice and was always bounds to cause issues. He had been quoted by a large company $500-$1200+ quite a large bracket by anyone's standards. After a short time I had the birds nest cleared and a tidy set up in place for easy future electrical additions, and all appliances running. (Apart from the vhf which after some trouble shooting and has been defined as "dead")
What was the damage? Including a 50min call out and gst = $210

Need something similar done. Don't get ripped off. Call me and let's see what you could save.

Merry xmas
