I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.

Sorry for the belated message and lack of interaction with my page for the past two weeks, I’ve been suffering with anemia and due to have my iron transfusion in a couple of weeks.

Parenting 6 children can be tiring on normal days, but with extremely low iron levels, my exhaustion has been off the charts. I so lucky to have such a beautiful and supportive family around me, who understand my struggles and pitch in the help out around the house as much as possible.

I will have some more food and cooking posts very soon. As well as some topics about being a mum, that I love to hear from everyone about.

Story time

MY GOSH I LOVE THIS KID!!! 💖💕💖

My husbands car is currently in the workshop today and so he had to take my car to work. This morning I realised I didn’t have the vegetables I need to make dinner tonight… this kid said:
”it’s ok Mum. Write me a list of what you need and I’ll skateboard down to the shops for you”.

We currently have a 5 month old baby, who needed a nap (she’s grumpy this morning), so it wasn’t going to be an easy task for me to walk down to the shops. Instead Cameron (16 years) saved the day and is currently out food shopping for me. He really does melt my heart 🥰

I’d love to hear stories about when someone saved the day for you?

What’s the worst part about being a parent???

For me: it’s having to “think” everyday of what to have for dinner!!!

Tip: make it a non-negotiable activity that every member in the house has to write down 5 dinner ideas and 5 lunch ideas every month. Keep a jar on your bench with a little note pad and pencil. Each family member adds their ideas to the jar - then when you’re too tired to “think”… lucky dip tonight everyone lol 😂
