We’re over halfway through the Killing Horizons tour with Parkway Drive , so I thought it would be a good time to share some of the work I’ve done, mainly getting their OG guitars back in shape for this tour.

These guitars haven’t been played since the album eras. After 10+ years in storage, following a pretty hard life before that, it took a bit of work to get them back into shape.

For Jeff: a new EMG 81/60 set, plus brand-new pickup rings and screws — which, of course, promptly snapped off inside the body 🫡. New electronics and a CRL 3-way blade switch, as well as a new Gotoh bridge and locking tuners.

Most of the work on this one was just some TLC on the fretboard, a light fret dress and a new setup. All in all, not too bad!

Luke’s guitar, on the other hand, needed a lot more work on the frets. There were flat spots on just about every fret, so it needed a full fret level and dress. (I didn’t get any photos to show unfortunately, so just take my word on how bad it was) This one also copped a new output jack, pickup rings and a new bridge. Every screw snapped off in the body due to rust, as you can see from the photo of the old output jack.

I was able to freshen up the tuners and nut, then threw in a new pot. Luke’s ESP signature guitar only has a volume control, so I just disconnected the existing tone control on the LTD to keep things simple.

Pretty happy with how these turned out overall, and it’s great to see them getting played again as part of the album set.

I’ll start off with the addition of Jon Stockman new bass rig we built. This is now a fully redundant Neural DSP Quad Cortex mini rig, powered by the Fretronics Engineering RSW auto switcher. This now puts it inline with both Drew and Hoss’s guitar rigs that we built a few months ago as well.
So everyone now has a seemless automatic backup option with QC A & B.

We have also added in a Eventide Inc. H90 pedal on both of Jons QC Mini to help with some of the bass FX. This is fed into the quad cortex twice to create a stereo FX output for FOH. So the bass now how 4 outputs going out to FOH.

Some of you might be sad to see. They we have completely replaced Jon’s famous monster pedal board. And all we use now is this vintage Metal Zone pedal on everything 😜

No, kidding - We have captured just about every pedal and tone from that board and now it all lives within the QC. So Jons board out front is just a tuner and expression control. ;)

I’ve also rebuilt the guitar pedal board for Mark Hosking. With a Pedalboards by Temple Audio duo 17. Also big big thanks to the team at BOSS for the extra pedals to fiddle with during the show.

*Not shown; we are using Radial Engineering Reamp box’s for our GTR & bass Wireless sends to go over distance*

The Nano QC is for me only as a tune line. I have both amp captures from Jon and Hoss loaded on it and I use the nano to hear during the show. so I am confident they’re getting perfect guitar everytime. This feds out of my workbox and back into the rack. There is also a Boss TU3s which is a direct signal from Hoss’s tuber bypass onstage for live monitoring

Anyway, just wanted to share the new rigs for this tour.
Cya out there!

Babe. Wake up! New rigs just dropped! 😍

Over the past 4 weeks we have been slowly building, planning and programming a flyable, redundant, compact but efficient & capable guitar rig system for Drew & Hoss of Karnivool.

We teamed up with our good friends at & to supply us with some goodies to make this happen. We’re now using the Quad Cortex Mini for guitars - this makes a lot of sense for us to use these as we don’t need the foot print of the original Quad Cortex as everything is going to be midi controlled via playback.
So having just a “brain” for the guitar processing makes things very easy to fly with.

A long with that is the heart of the system, the Fretronics RSW auto switcher. This single RU unit takes all of our inputs & outputs as well as MIDI & sums them together to FOH & to our QC minis and THEN also detects a failure event & can automatically switch to our B rig simultaneously without any interference or dropouts.

I have also cleared up a lot of the cabling to make the runs onto stage easier. Our guitar signal is now being passed via a SGI & then sent to the rack via audio over cat to the rack off stage. It also carries our expression signal & future proofed for a vocal line or acoustic DI if we want & a spare line for anything we want to add onto the board later on.

Within that loom is the power for the board coming out of the racks via Truecon. So a very easy setup for me on stage, just power and signal.

I would like to say a HUGEEEE thanks to the band for trusting me and completely overhauling upgrading everything for them right now it before a massive tour.
With our first show already done in Copenhagen. I’m very happy with everything. Guitars a sounding as big as ever!

Another massive thank you to the legends at and to for helping us so quickly and promptly getting the unit’s sent to Australia.

Thank you Ollie from for hooking us up with the RSW switchers and a huge thank you to my friend for lending me a hand building it all get having it ready in time.
