Tom you never had any answers, you also said you rely on these reports , now you dont trust their report cause its not what you want, 66% were against LR4 , yet you can interview a few hundred people and say the majority want it. Lets say you may have been a litle loose with the truth.

Today the Queensland Deputy Premier, Jarrod Bleijie MP , announced that Stage 4 of the City’s light rail project to the Gold Coast Airport has been scrapped.

It is now in the State Government’s hands to deliver a clear and credible solution to address the Gold Coast’s major congestion and connectivity challenges, particularly as Australia’s fastest-growing city prepares to co- host the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

We look forward to seeing the data which led to the Government’s $9.8 billion costings estimate, as well as the full report which today has left us with more questions than answers. 🤔

My theory on the surfers sand pump dredge, I may be wrong but. From many years of surfing , the sand aligns in banks off the coast, the biggest waves break on the very outer banks and reform to break again where surfers float around on another sand bank, and can break again near the shore line. If you suck the sand from the outer break and pump it onto the beach, then the first time the wave breaks its closer to the shore and is more powerful, therefore pumping this sand from outer breaks may increase the waves washing away the beaches. There are posts from surfers that say the last time they pumped sand it made better waves closer to the beach. I hope Im wrong or they will continue to pump millions of dollars onto surfers beaches with a negative result.

From Tom Tates article about Hydrogen trams----quote: ( grid-independent hydrogen power will reduce headways below the current seven-minute limit, increasing network capacity) -- what this means is the current overhead powered tram system cant put on trams less than 7 minutes apart, so cant increase capacity if it gets busier, and cant send a convey of trams to service large events, as it will overload electrical systems, if trams are too close together. This is why they need electrical substations at regular intervals along the tram line. But running two separate powered tram systems hydrogen and electric, although on the same tracks will essentially double operating costs, and the current system already loses over $40 million per year, plus current electric trams wont get to Coolangatta without overhead wires.

Proposed light rail route, all this will be gone, note its called the currumbin conservation park, there are huge drop offs to the left they will need to fill and add concrete retaining walls 6-8 metres high, this area should be added to the bird sanctuary, but they sell off the bits they can.
