Oakey Community Bus operates Tuesdays and Fridays each week, but WON'T be operating on the upcoming Public Holidays - Friday 27 March (Toowoomba Show Holiday) and Friday 3 April (Good Friday).

Now that the banks have all abandoned Oakey, if you need to get to a bank branch check, the Oakey Community Bus can help. Currently operates every Tuesday and Friday, drops at Clifford Gardens and Grand Central.

Departs 8.30 am from the Railway, picks up Kerrytown. 1.30pm return. $5 cash RETURN FARE.

If more volunteers come forward it could operate more days

Oakey Community Bus has a new phone number for 2026:

Oakey Community Bus - 0428 327 527

Phone is only answered between 8 am and 1 pm Tuesdays and Fridays, when the Bus is operating.
If you need to be picked up from home because you can't physically get to a bus stop - Send a Text!
It will be read after 8 am on operating days.

Oakey Community Bus recommences for 2026 on Tuesday 13 January.

Picks up 8.30 am at Oakey Railway, then Kerrytown, Wiese Street and Kingsthorpe Bus Stop. Drops off at various places in Toowoomba by request to the driver. Returns 1.30pm.

Same on Fridays.

$5 (cash) return fare. No booking required, just hail the driver.

The service is operated by volunteers, and more drivers are needed. Private message for more information!

Oakey Community Bus is seeking volunteer Bus Drivers to maintain its service. Tuesdays and Fridays. Car Licence, Police Check and Medical check is all that is required. Private Message for more information.

Oakey Community Bus will operate on Tuesday 23 December, then our volunteers will have a Christmas pause.
The first bus for 2026 will run on Tuesday 13 January.
