🪧 FREE Adult Cycle Skills Workshop
📅 Saturday 15 November 2025

📍 Nirimba State Primary School, Nirimba
Build your confidence on two wheels—whether you’re nervous, out of practice, or curious about the freedom of an e-bike. This workshop is led by the knowledgeable instructors from Bike On. The approach is supportive, practical, and driven to make riding fun and stress-free.
A limited number of e-bikes will be on hand for those keen to try; however, you will need to bring your own bike for this workshop. Also bring a bike helmet, a water bottle and make sure to wear closed toe shoes.
Friendly, encouraging, and never rushed— this workshop is designed to turn “I’m not sure I can” into “That was easier than I thought!”

Ben has spent an awesome few days in Mogo, NSW, working alongside Shannon from Gravity Oz to deliver a PMBIA Level 1 Instructor Course.

PMBIA remains the gold standard in mountain bike coaching certification — helping us turn passionate riders into skilled, qualified coaches and opening real career pathways in the outdoor adventure industry.

As part of his own next step, Ben is now training as a PMBIA Course Conductor (Train the Trainer), with the goal of helping PMBIA deliver more courses across Queensland and throughout Australia — supporting the ongoing growth and professionalism of the mountain bike industry.

🚲 Bicycle Mechanic – Bike On & By Earth and Ocean

Location: Sunshine Coast, QLD
Hours: 3–4 days per week (flexible, depending on skills & interest areas)

Bike On and By Earth and Ocean are leading Sunshine Coast adventure operators, offering mountain bike coaching, hire, tours, and eco-adventures. We’re looking for an experienced Bicycle Mechanic with strong skills and a solid knowledge of both mountain bikes and e-bikes to join our team.

🔑 About the Role

At its core, this role is all about keeping bikes running safely and smoothly. You’ll work across a wide range of mountain bikes and e-bikes, ensuring they’re maintained to a professional standard.

The role also goes beyond the workshop — you’ll be preparing bikes for customers, supporting logistics, and assisting with customer service and transport.

Additional opportunities are available for the right candidate to supplement hours by:

- Guiding bike tours (mountain bike + cruiser bike tours).

- Coaching kids’ mountain bike lessons (pending qualifications).

📝 Key Responsibilities

- Bike Maintenance & Repairs: Service and repair our rental fleet to the highest standard.

- Preparation of Hire Bikes: Ensure bikes are clean, safe, and customer-ready.

- Customer Service: Assist with enquiries, rentals, and bike handovers.

- Logistical Support: Deliver/collect bikes and support fleet logistics.

- Transporting Customers: Drive customers (and their bikes) to designated locations.

- Optional: Guide tours and/or coach kids’ lessons (if qualified)

👤 About You

- Experienced bicycle mechanic with proven workshop skills (essential).

- Strong knowledge of mountain bikes and e-bikes (essential).

- Detail-oriented and committed to bike safety & performance.

- Confident, friendly communicator with good customer service skills.

- Current driver’s licence (essential).

- Flexible, reliable, and happy to pitch in where needed.

- Guiding or coaching experience (desirable but not essential).
