Chasing the sun! ☀

Many of us are counting the days until we can head off, chasing the warmer weather. Winter temperatures in WA and QLD can be a joyful change from Victorian rain and chilly Winter days. WEIGH DAY WINNERS 🏆🏆🏆

Over 2 busy days, we weighed motorhomes, hybrids, poptops, off-road caravans, and a range of tow vehicles. The results were largely positive and most issues identified could be rectified on the spot. It was a great opportunity for sharing knowledge and helping Carac's customers to get set up safely.

WEIGH OF THE WEEK

Many people don't realise that all motorhomes have weight limits, just like any other RV. They must not exceed the GVM rating (max vehicle weight) or axle ratings. If towing, the overall weight of the combo must be less than the GCM rating. This Mercedes Sprinter is a DIY fit out by the owners. They have done an excellent job, with balance and craftsmanship. It is well below all weight limits and ready to take them on adventures!

WEIGH OF THE WEEK 🎖🎖🎖

How about this for a fun combination? With a GVM upgrade, the Dmax coped easily with the slide-on camper weight and the towball weight added by the boat trailer. Our report showed all weights significantly below limits and both car and trailer were balanced 50/50 left to right. This is a practical way to combine camping and water activities, without high fuel costs or a big rig. A worthy weekly winner!🎣🧭🚤

For those new to our profile, we weigh cars, vans, motorhomes, machinery trailers, boat trailers, buses and more. This week we did a compliance weigh for a new Tiny Home. It has three axles, sharing the load. The engineers did their work well as it came in below the trailer maximum limits and with well balanced weight. This little gem is headed to Rye, ready for a holiday life. 😎 🌞 😎
