Meet Nick.

Nick has spent his whole life around aviation, starting flying at the Sunraysia Gliding Club at 13 and going solo the day he was legally allowed to at 15.

As Chief Engineer at Ramair Aircraft Maintenance, he is rated on both piston and PT6 turboprop engines: maintaining and flying them. On the flying side he holds a CPL, instructor and agricultural ratings, and is an accredited fire pilot.

Two careers in aviation that most people keep separate. Nick has spent 20 years building both.

The Cessna 210 is a capable cross-country aircraft with the range and load to handle charter work across the region.

Single engine, retractable undercarriage, and a comfortable cabin. It handles the runs that don't need a twin but do need reliability over distance.

One of the things students don't always expect is how much of flight training happens on the ground.

Ground school, briefings, weather assessments, navigation planning. The airwork is the rewarding part but the foundations underneath it matter just as much. Our instructors take both seriously.

Flying in the Sunraysia means different light at different times of day.

Early starts and late finishes are part of training. Most students end up with a favourite time to fly. The ones who go for dawn usually don't come back to afternoons.
