You might have noticed the Murray is looking a little different right now.

You might have noticed the Murray is looking a little different right now. 🌊 Lock 11 and the Mildura Weir, iconic structures that have stood on this river since 1927, are currently undergoing a weir pull. The 24 steel trestles that normally hold back the river and maintain stable water levels for irrigation and navigation have been removed, and the river upstream is dropping by up to 3.5 metres as a result.
It happens periodically for maintenance or to safely pass high river flows, and when it does, the Murray reveals a side of itself you rarely get to see. Exposed riverbanks, a slower, lower current and a stillness on the water that is honestly something else.

For our houseboats, this means we head downstream, away from the weir and further into the river where the water is at its most beautiful right now. Open stretches, quiet bends and a Murray that feels like it belongs entirely to you.

While the river is different, the same high standard of service and quality of boats you know and love remains unchanged.
