Changes at Midway.
Be cautious on the road tomorrow. keep us updated on how traffic has been affected.

Things are changing on the Tasman Highway at Midway Point tomorrow!

On Thursday, 11 August 2022 from 10:00 am, there will be four lanes of highway traffic open through the intersection and Midway Point, and two lanes will be able to turn right out of Penna Road towards Hobart at the traffic lights.

There will still be some partial lane closures outside of peak travel times over the next few weeks on the highway near both causeways as we complete some final works on the project.

There will be a reduced speed limit of 40 km/hr to keep everyone safe while you get used to the new conditions, so please continue to allow extra time for your journey.

Change of speed limit on Brinktop Road.

In collaboration with Department of State Growth, Tasmania Police and Clarence City Council, a request was made to the Commissioner of Transport to reduce the speed limit on the entire length of Brinktop Road, to 80 km/h.

The request was approved and the change will be effective as of Monday 20 June 2022.

New speed limit signs will be installed at either end of Brinktop Road, as well as at 2 kilometre intervals, to remind drivers of the new speed limit. A ‘New Speed Limit Ahead’ warning sign will also be installed to alert motorists of the change.

Brinktop Road has seen a steady increase in traffic over recent years and the safety of our community is priority. We appreciate your support.
