Our very loved volunteer and Board Member Elaine Barnes was taken home to be with her Lord and Saviour in the early hours of Friday morning. Jesus answered the prayers of her heart and those who loved her and took her home quickly. She will be greatly missed. Please pray for Russell and their family during these difficult days.

What a day! We are still trying to take it all in!

Firstly, congratulations to all the finalists and award recipients. It was such a privilege to celebrate the extraordinary contribution volunteers make in communities right across Victoria. Hearing of the work being done across Victoria is awe inspiring!

We are absolutely thrilled (and still a little shocked!) to share that Transit received not one, but TWO massive awards! Thank you so much to Luba Grigorovitch MP and Geoff Sharp, CEO of Volunteering Victoria, for presenting us with these incredible awards.

These awards belong to our incredible volunteers. Your time, commitment, compassion and willingness to show up, week after week, are what make Transit so special. So much of what you do happens quietly, without recognition, and we couldn’t be happier to see your efforts celebrated in this way. We are so grateful for every one of you. ❤️

A very special thank you to Michael, whose vision, determination and innovative thinking have transformed so many of the systems behind the scenes at Transit. Your willingness to rethink how we do things has made an enormous difference to our volunteers and the people we serve. This recognition is so well deserved!

We certainly missed having Lisa and Peter there to share this moment with us, but we’ll make up for it when we celebrate with the rest of the Transit team very soon!

What a wonderful reminder of what can happen when people gather to care for their community, and we thank God for the incredible people He has brought together at Transit.
