Ph: 1300 313 311 We’ve partnered on some incredible major projects.

Since its humble beginnings in 2013, this Australian owned family business has rapidly grown into a market leader for Traffic Management in Melbourne. The company started, with the owners Peter and Lil O’Brien working the roads and building a company from the ground up, it was a lot of time, hard work, and passion that established the company that exists today. Fast forward only a few years, the c

ompany has now over 100 trusted clients and traffic controllers alongside reliable equipment, assets and vehicles. Peter O’Brien the Co Founder and Director of First Traffic Management brings nearly a decade of experience in Traffic Management whilst other Key Personnel are considered as Veterans and Leaders within the Industry. As well as our dedicated team of qualified and motivated Traffic Controllers, who go the extra mile for every client, ensuring repeat business and word of mouth promotion. Due to the rapid growth in trusted clients and the increase of projects in Melbourne, First Traffic Management has seen an exponential growth recently and has been able to provide project managers and builders with confidence that all of their traffic management needs are taken care of through our team being competent in the job and able to work alongside them to get the job done and keep both the public and their workers safe. Our detail to Safety is second to none with Toolbox Meetings, Safety Audits and Risk Assessments a part of our Daily Routine. Compliance is key in all of our work, so we complete inductions for sites where need be, and always continue to make sure each employee’s accreditation is current and up to date. Currently we are involved in the Melbourne Underground Rail Link (MURL), Wyndham Vale and Aviation Rd Level Crossing Removals after the successful completion of Kororoit Creek. With more development about to start in the city of Melbourne we are looking forward to what’s coming up and the continued growth.

For 38 days, our team has been part of the Walk For Truth, helping keep people safe so this important journey can continue.

We believe in what this movement stands for. Truth, healing, and giving space for stories to be heard.

We will now be joining Walking the Birrarung in Narrm, an 8km walk from near Banksia Street Bridge to the Wurundjeri Trail in Kew, where we connect into the final stage of the Walk For Truth.
📍 Assemble from 8:30am
📍 Join the finish at 11am

We would love to see people come along, walk together, and show support.

You can also support by signing the letter calling for a national truth‑telling process:

For 38 days, our team has been part of the Walk For Truth from Naarm to Canberra.

We chose to be involved because we believe in what this journey stands for. Truth, healing, and the opportunity for our country to listen and learn.

Our role has been to keep people safe so the walk could continue, so stories could be shared, and so this movement could have the impact it deserves.

We are proud to stand behind something bigger than ourselves and to play a small part in a journey that calls for understanding, respect, and change.

As of today, Fraser Werner, our Operations Manager, will be transitioning to a part‑time role while remaining an important part of our team.

We cannot thank Fraser enough for everything he has given to this business. The care he has shown every client, every employee, and every project has left a lasting impact on all of us.

This company simply would not be what it is without his heart, work ethic, and grit. While this is a change, Fraser continues to be a valued part of our journey.
We are excited for what comes next for you and wish you all the very best.

Not all worksites are straightforward, especially when they involve night works on major corridors.

Our shutdown of Wurundjeri Way alongside Millennium Rigging required hours of preparation behind the scenes, from plans and permits through to fully preparing the utes with the correct equipment and coordinating the entire crew.

Complex sites demand clear communication, attention to detail, and a team that knows how to execute under pressure.

This is how safe, controlled night works are delivered.

When COVID shut down Michael’s business, he was left carrying the weight of looking after his entire family and his in‑laws as the sole income earner.

Michael joined First Nations Traffic Management in 2021 and has loved the work ever since. He enjoys being outdoors, working with different people and clients, and knowing he is helping keep everyone safe and happy.

His drive to learn, improve, and give his best every day has made Michael such an important part of our team for the last five years. We are proud of how far he has come and grateful to have him with us.

This is what changing lives through employment looks like.

We are proud to be supporting the National Walk For Truth, helping to keep everyone safe as the walk makes its way from Naarm to Canberra.

This is an important journey bringing communities together, and our role is to ensure the safety of participants, drivers, and the broader public along the route.

Honoured to stand behind a movement that matters and to support it with care and respect.

Road closures can feel frustrating, but they are in place for one reason. Safety.

Every closure is carefully planned to protect workers, drivers, pedestrians, and the wider community. Managing live traffic environments takes skill, focus, and clear communication.

Thank you to everyone who slows down, follows directions, and helps keep our worksites safe.
