What happens when Skålleagues from across Australia come together in one place?

Plenty of valuable conversation, new ideas, shared purpose and of course a fair bit of fun!

Skål Melbourne was proudly represented by Craig, Sanket, Kylie Wapp and Tara at the Skål Australia National Assembly in Hobart from 4–6 September.

The weekend included a tree-planting ceremony, tourism expo and industry panel, cocktail party, National Assembly meeting, gala dinner and Sunday brunch.

More importantly, it created the opportunity for meaningful discussions with fellow Australian clubs about how we continue strengthening Skål, supporting our industry and creating greater connection across the country.

And because no Skål gathering is complete without experiencing the destination, there was also time for a visit to the top of kunanyi/Mount Wellington, a fascinating prison history tour and a very important “research stop” at Cascade Brewery. 🍻

Thank you to Skål International Hobart for hosting a brilliant weekend and making everyone feel so welcome.

And the next adventure is already locked in! Skål Canberra has officially been confirmed to co-host the next National Assembly from 12–14 March 2027. Pop it in the diary, we’ll see you in the capital! 🇦🇺

There is something pretty special about doing business among friends, especially when those friendships stretch right across Australia. 💙

The world feels a whole lot smaller when you’re part of the Skål family.

Last week, while attending the ATIA Beyond Borders event in Perth, our own Nicole O’Sullivan had the opportunity to catch up with members of Skål Perth and other travel industry colleagues.

One of the greatest benefits of being part of Skål isn’t just the connections you make within your own club. It’s knowing that wherever your travels take you, there’s a community of like-minded tourism professionals ready to welcome you.

Those connections often grow into friendships. Those friendships often lead to business. And those business relationships strengthen our industry as a whole.

It’s a great reminder that Skål is far more than a local networking group. We’re part of a global organisation built on doing business among friends, sharing knowledge, supporting one another and creating opportunities across cities, countries and continents.

Well…what a night! 🤩

Our Skål International Melbourne Trivia Night certainly didn’t disappoint.

There were laughs, plenty of friendly rivalry, a few “I’m sure that’s not the right answer!” moments and a room full of people coming together for something that matters.

Well done to the Nordic Noggins for taking out this years trophy 🏆

It was the incredible generosity shown by everyone in the room.

💙 Together we raised an amazing $2,200 for My Room Children’s Cancer Charity, with donations still open if you’d like to support this incredible cause.

A huge thank you to Stuba for proudly sponsoring the evening and helping make it all possible.

And to our brilliant quiz host from Quiz Meisters thank you for keeping us laughing, thinking and second guessing answers all night long!

One of the best parts of the evening was seeing so many new faces alongside our regular Skålleagues.
