When is a railway station not really being used as a railway station? When it's in Mildura. A bizarre situation, with the platform needing repair, yet the station is used as a bus hub. Some of the railway buildings must have some form of heritage overlay, including the nearby turntable.

The road trip from Melbourne to Perth continues, and our first night is in Walpeup: a great, cost-effective Shire/Council-run campground with showers, laundry, a BBQ and powerpoints. The town is also a sleepy hollow with an abandoned school to explore, beautiful silo art and a native botanical garden to enjoy. This town appears to have been very popular back in the day.

We are off on another motorhome relocation for $1 per day to transport one from Melbourne to Perth - It's a lot of fun, and we'll check out things on the way. We'll focus on historical places, railway stations, townships and simply odd things we might see on the way! - In Bealiba we visit the railway station that is no longer in commission and appears to be a private residence or Airbnb - There is also railway infrastructure around the railway yards; sheds, water tanks etc.
