Time to say "see you" everyone and please welcome Maria! It is with a bit of sadness mixed with much happiness that we hand over Eagle Hammer Cottages to Maria today. There are some of you out there that know this business has been a very personal one for me, and I wanted to say thank you for making the last 9 years the most pleasurable “job” I have ever had.

When you are selling a property like this you really have no control over who is going to buy it, but I could not be happier that it is Maria who has purchased it. She is a genuinely lovely lady who really loves the region, Eagle Hammer and who I know will be a great host! So from me (& Ian) thank you for being such wonderful guests and/or followers and please welcome Maria to the “biz” when you are next at Eagle Hammer. :)

It is such a beautiful time of the year now at . All the leaves are back on the trees, we had our first echidna (Spike!) spotted last weekend and the birds are busy everywhere. This little one is often outside View’s kitchen window. I am going to call him an immature male superb fairy-wren, he is super cute and very busy!!

Goldfish on Steroids!! I had a good laugh yesterday when I read this wonderful review from departing guests Annine & Sean :) If you have ever stayed in Eagles Nest you may have seen the fish in the pond, but do you think they are on steroids?? I put some Goldfish & Australian bass in the pond about 8 years ago but based on the number of Kookaburras around here I am amazed there are any left in the pond. However, they seem happy & healthy and whenever I see them I smile and thank them for adding another dimension to the wonderful view from Eagles Nest.

Spring is peaking through the door a few days early here in the Dandenongs! It is beautiful here today, a bit cloudy but you can feel the heat of the sun trying to get through, the birds & frogs are singing, some of the deciduous trees are “springing” but most of all the smell is AMAZING. Even the lovely guests I just checked in mentioned the smell…. So we are happily in spring sensory overload here at - and for that we are grateful!!
