An update on the Bellarine Bus Review. The real test is yet to come - that is whether recommendations will be funded. Far more important than any transport review or plan is the state budget, with the next due in May 2027.

Update on the Bellarine Bus Review.

Firstly a massive thank you to the community for being involved in the Department's Bus Review.

A summary report of the data has now been released.

It captures what the community wanted, needed and suggested how we can improve the system.

Of course, there are various views and needs to be consider, but I'll put the summary report below so you can have a look at the data.

Also, the department is currently working through the cross Bellarine Bus service. I keep pushing for this to be up and going as quick as possible but work needs to be done on the stops, the final route and contracts put out for a bus company to take it on. I can confirm though, that the route will include a stop at the new pool being built on Peninsula Drive, also supporting the schools there too.

The cross Bellarine Bus is already funded and will be up and going as soon as possible but its important to know that the feedback also received about the whole Bellarine is being worked through so it compliments the cross Bellarine service. I will keep you updated on this too.

Lastly, there was a lot of feedback on school buses, which I welcomed. I have been able to get further interim solutions to 2027 school buses and the schools will be in contact with parents soon.

Thank you again...this is the start of getting a better public transport system on the Bellarine.
