Maryborough is known as the “ Heritage City” and although it isn’t as grand as Queensland’s premier Heritage Cities,Rockhampton and Charters Towers- it actually predates them both by decades.
The city boasts a large number of historical buildings and the original
settlement site.
Maryborough,today, is a city driven by the surrounding sugar,grazing and timber industries as well as catering for the many tourists that pass through.

Day out to Woodgate ..my favourite place 😊
Woodgate is flanked by Burrum Coast National Park and the beach stretches for 16km, featuring panoramic sea views, two parks and an esplanade running from Woodgate Beach Hotel to the end of Woodgate.
The area has a three caravan parks with the main one being the NRMA Woodgate Caravan Park right in the heart of Woodgate adjacent the beach. There is a small coffee shop at the front which serves awesome coffee and snacks.
The Woodgate Beach Hotel provides camping at the back of the hotel as well as Caravancamping.qld.on the road towards Walkers Point.
The town of Woodgate offers a couple of shops, great takeaway, hardware, chemist and doctors surgery.
This place is ideal for families with its crystal clear calm waters,or bring the kayak and visit Theodolite Creek or for the more adventurous with a 4WD take a drive into Burrum Coast National Park. There is something here for everyone but keep it to yourself as it’s our 🤫 secret 😊

Absolutely beautiful few days in Kenilworth, QLD. Kenilworth is a small country town ,with a population of about 300,in the beautiful upper Mary ValleyCountry behind the Blackall Range, and about one and a half’s hour drive north of Brisbane.Kenilworth continues to retain its 1930’s atmosphere and attracts visitors with its range of eateries, art galleries, Kenilworth Dairy and Kenilworth Country Bakery which is famous for its 1kg donuts. We will be sampling a few smaller ones later today 😊
They had over 3m of water here a few months ago due to the floods and if you look closely in a few photos at the trees you can see where there is debris left hanging from where the river ran through 🥺It went over the high banks of the river and half way up the trees flooding the campground..hard to believe now.
Such a beautiful country town with great hospitality 😊

Great walk into Kenilworth for the most amazing ice cream 😊
