Important Announcement:
A New Year brings a New Chapter for Songbird®
With the new year underway I have taken some time to reflect and plan for the year ahead.
After four and a half years I have decided that we will be closing Songbird’s shop and workspace in Margate.
The last day of trading in Margate will be Friday 13 February 2026.
I would like to sincerely thank our incredibly loyal customers and for their heartwarming and unwavering support. For acknowledging the joy and optimism that we have worked tirelessly to infuse in our store, and who have appreciated and invested in our unique creative vision for this little pocket of the Channel region.
Please be assured that Songbird IS NOT closing down!
As hard as some of this news may be, I would like to emphasise the positive nature of it - it is a decision that has taken quite some time to resolve, but it is the right one, allowing space and time for creativity to continue to build and develop what our customers around Australia love about Songbird, at the same time as allowing more time with family.
Songbird® has successfully grown and developed through 10 years of business and the decision to close our Margate shop will ensure that we continue to thrive for another 10 years. We will continue to exhibit at regular events like the upcoming Melbourne Flower & Garden Show, Big Design Markets and Salamanca Markets, as well as have our unique Tasmanian designed artisan made ranges available via our website and in beautiful stores around Australia.
