One of the Sunshine Coast’s most distinctive event spaces is getting ready to transform again.

On Saturday 17 October, the Machjet International hangar at Sunshine Coast Airport will once again host the SunnyKids Mayoral Ball.

Last year’s event was a sell-out, with more than 300 guests dining alongside our aircraft in a space that looked very different from the operational hangar we see every day.

This year, the Ball is set to be even bigger, with more guests, aerial entertainment, live performances and, of course, some of our aircraft forming part of the backdrop.

We’re very proud to support SunnyKids and to open our hangar again for an event that raises vital funds for local families experiencing domestic and family violence.

It’s also a great opportunity to show just what can be done with Hangar 26 when you think beyond its day job.

Our newest Cessna Citation CJ4 had its first taste of the spotlight this week – and for a very worthwhile cause.

The aircraft, one of only three CJ4s in Australia – two of which are owned by Machjet International – provided the backdrop for the media shoot to launch the 2026 SunnyKids Mayoral Ball, which returns to our hangar at Sunshine Coast Airport on Saturday 17 October.

It was great to see the resulting image featured prominently on page 3 in The Courier-Mail yesterday as tickets and tables for this year’s Ball officially went on sale.

Now in its 10th year, the Mayoral Ball will raise funds for the SunnyKids Transitional Housing Project, helping local families escaping domestic and family violence move towards safe, stable and independent futures.

Last year, more than 300 guests joined us in the Machjet hangar and helped raise $70,000 for SunnyKids. Due to the demand for this amazing event, we’ve increased capacity to 400 guests this year – but be quick, as tickets and tables are expected to go fast.

We’re proud to once again provide the venue and support such an important local cause, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to the hangar in October.

Our newest Citation CJ4 has officially arrived at its new home at Sunshine Coast Airport, and the journey was as remarkable as the aircraft itself.

With the traditional route through the Middle East unavailable, our pilots carefully planned and flew an alternative 16,380-kilometre route across 17 countries before arriving safely in Australia.

Over three days they navigated challenging weather, complex international airspace and one of the world's most demanding delivery flights, bringing the aircraft safely home to the Sunshine Coast.

For those who love the numbers, here are a few fun facts:
• 16,380 kilometres flown
• 28.5 flight hours
• 17 countries crossed
• Fuel stops in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, India, Thailand, Indonesia and Broome
