⛽ We understand that fuel surcharge updates aren't always welcome—but we'd like to explain why they happen.

Like many transport businesses across Australia, VIC Freight's fuel levy is directly linked to the cost of diesel.

When diesel prices rise, the cost of operating our fleet increases too. When they fall, we review our fuel levy accordingly.

The fuel levy isn't a fixed fee or an additional charge determined by VIC Freight. It reflects fluctuations in diesel prices at the bowser and helps offset one of the largest operating costs in the transport industry.

That's why we regularly review our fuel levy and communicate any changes to our customers as soon as possible.

🚛 A smooth delivery starts before the truck leaves the yard 🚛

Providing complete and accurate information when booking transport helps your carrier plan the right vehicle, allocate enough time and avoid preventable delays at the delivery site.

Before confirming your next container delivery, please check:
✔ The correct delivery address including the appropriate entrance, gate or loading area if the site is large.
✔ An on-site contact person - someone who will be available and contactable when the driver arrives.
✔ Site access and time restrictions such as booking windows, curfews, height limits, narrow access, construction activity or restricted operating hours.
✔ The correct delivery method - let us know whether the container will be unloaded from the trailer, requires a sideloader, or will require us to unpack and loose deliver.

Even a small missing detail like side loader door direction can result in waiting time, failed delivery attempts or the wrong equipment being allocated.

Clear information helps everyone work more efficiently and gives your freight the best chance of arriving safely and on schedule.

Over the past few weeks, shipping lines operating through Shanghai and Ningbo have experienced disruptions following Typhoon Bavi, with temporary port closures, vessel omissions and ongoing congestion as terminals work through backlogs.
