🥾 Overland Track Complete! 🏔️

What an achievement! This fantastic group has just completed Tasmania’s iconic Overland Track, trekking all the way from Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair through some of the most spectacular wilderness Australia has to offer.

From alpine plateaus and ancient rainforests to mountain peaks and countless memories, they’ve conquered every step of the journey. Now it’s time for a well-earned rest and a few stories to share!

🥾 Overland Track Adventure Begins! 🌿

A fantastic group of Tasmanian hikers from Launceston and Hobart are ready to take on the iconic Overland Track!

With packs loaded and spirits high, they’re about to experience six days of alpine landscapes, ancient rainforest, mountain views, and lifelong memories.

Although gear hire And transport is still keeping us busy in the off season for hikers, we managed to squeeze in a couple of days to venture up Arms river track to Pelion hut 😁 as enticing as the hut was, the tent got our vote 👌

Is this where our beautiful but mischievous Currawongs are heading 🤔
With the stories we are hearing of this intelligent, amusing and…… let’s say, hike challenging bird, who knows what they will learn on their quest for food when they are flying around Tassies hiking trails.

So far we know that this black beauty is capable of:

1. Undoing zippers on packs
2. Taking off packing covers
3. Stealing food
3. And even stories of them flying off with light clothing items 😬

Until this smart little creature has learnt to work with his or her mates to be able to flip over hiking packs, the best tip we have learned is to place your pack on the ground when leaving it zippers down with your pack cover over the strap side of your pack. So far the Currawongs haven’t learned how to tackle this trick.

That being said, in the future if you see a Currawong heating up a meal on a gas cooker, I think it is time we teach them to carry their own packs 😁 Happy hiking 👌

Another incredible crew ready to take on Tasmania’s iconic Overland Track 👣🔥

This awesome group has travelled from Toowoomba, Newcastle and all the way from New Zealand to experience one of Australia’s greatest multi-day hikes. There’s always something special about seeing hikers from all over come together with the same goal — adventure, challenge, fresh mountain air and unforgettable memories.

Early starts, packed backpacks, cold Tassie mornings and big smiles before heading into the wilderness 🌄🥾

We hope you all have an absolutely amazing journey through Cradle Mountain and the Overland Track.

From the rugged peaks of New Zealand to the wild heart of Tasmania — Greg and his partner are living a true adventurer’s dream.

Now 5 months into their epic 5-year hiking journey, they’ve already ticked off an incredible milestone — completing a full end-to-end hike of New Zealand. And yet, there’s been one track they’ve been talking about the whole time…

The Overland Track.

This is the hike they’ve been most anticipating — and you could feel it the moment we met them. 🌿

Packs loaded, boots dialled in, and smiles all round — the excitement was next level. The kind you only see when someone is about to step into something they’ve been dreaming about for years.

For Greg, travelling all the way from the USA, this isn’t just another hike… it’s a major moment in a much bigger adventure.

And that’s what makes it special — even after months on the trail and conquering one of the world’s great long-distance hikes, they’re still absolutely buzzing for what Tasmania has to offer.

We’re stoked to be a small part of their journey, helping them get track-ready before they take on one of Australia’s most iconic multi-day hikes.
