It certainly puts a smile on our face and warmth in our heart when we see one of our guests reading/referring to the information booklet. We put a lot of work in to providing the most relevant up to date information for day to day planning on the go. We like to think that the booklet might also be a little souvenir of where our guests have been, and the names of the locals they have met ☺️

We were both entertained and educated by Dane and Karlo at our ‘home’ hotel one evening. Highlighting different regions of Slovenia, we heard music and dialect from each one. Such a great brother duo 🤩👏

Sometimes the weather is not conducive to the planned walk…
Whatever the weather, there are always options!! This year, we had an unscheduled visit to Solkanski most, or Solkan Bridge. (Those who have been our guests, we will know that ‘most’ mean bridge.
This picturesque bridge is the world’s longest stone arch railroad bridge. Originally built to carry the Bohinj Railway in the time of the Vienna Secession early 1900…

If the weather doesn’t suit one walk, it will undoubtedly suit another…
Just be sure to bring a raincoat and an umbrella with you - weather is unpredictable these days!

Slovenia has at least 46 different dialects throughout its small area!
Our visit to Franc tests out our local guide, Tea. Initially she translates Franc’s dialect into the more widespread dialect, and then into English for our guests.

The forest around the hunting lodge of Sneznik Castle is very lush! If the traffic and weather is kind to us, we enjoy a little immersion in the lushness before our tour of the castle.
