🔋 The question we get asked the most — how long does the battery last?

EClass batteries are designed to provide the equivalent of 10 years of fuel use, with capacity for thousands of deep cycle recharges. Once charged, they hold their charge with minimal self-discharge — ready when you are, even after months in the garage.

All batteries feature an LCD display for remaining range, and all EClass outboards are Bluetooth enabled so you can monitor speed, amp draw and battery run time in real time from your phone.

We recommend an entry-level battery giving approximately 30 minutes at wide open throttle and 2–3 times that at mixed speeds.

☀️ Can electric boats be charged with solar? Absolutely.

One of our customers, Dermot Smith, runs his EClass-powered vessel entirely on solar. He completed a 20 nautical mile round trip in the Coral Sea using a 6kW EClass motor, powered by two 48V lithium phosphate batteries charged by onboard solar panels. During speed trials he found that at 2.5 knots, solar input alone was enough to power the boat without drawing from the batteries at all.

EClass outboards are available in 48V for motors up to 10kW, making solar charging a genuinely practical option. Charge from home power, shore power, or the sun.
