**Come down to fair.**

Tasmania. Winter. A workshop on the water in Kettering, 30 minutes south of Hobart.

We're looking for a qualified shipwright to join us from June 2026. No production line. Just good work on wooden boats.

**What we're offering:**
- 6 months casual from June, with the option to stay on if it works
- Hands-on restoration across multiple boats, or sink your teeth into one big job
- A small, serious team in a cracker spot
- Oyster Cove Marina on the D'Entrecasteaux Channel, Bruny Island right across the water

**What we need:**
- Trade-qualified shipwright or boatbuilder (or the equivalent from wherever you're from)
- Solid experience with traditional wooden boat construction and restoration
- Someone who can take a job and run with it
- Hand and power tool competency across all shipwright skills
- Lead shipwright experience is a bonus

This isn't a holiday. It's proper work with proper people. Tasmanian winter is cold, clean air, short days, long evenings, a fire under the stars, and empty beaches. The stuff that reminds you why you picked up tools in the first place.

Australian Working Holiday Visa holders welcome.

**To apply:** Drop us a line with a bit about yourself, what you've built or restored, and when you're available. Photos of your work say more than a CV (but best to include that too).

Heading North. Tradition departed Hobart for Sydney this morning. She'll return to the Sydney Hobart Yacht Race in its 80th edition. Good luck and go well Rob Gough and crew. Tradition is a special boat with a great group of people on board and in support. We'll be rooting for you all the way!

Prior to turning Peri over, deck ply dry fitted and removed. The undersides of the ply sheets were marked on beams so they can be timber preserved and painted while we work on fairing the hull.

Exciting times as our next big project rolls into the shed!
That’s right, another beautiful Derwent Class to be brought back to life. This time round we have Peri D16
Built in 1949 by Cawthorn family who have bought the boat back into the family and are excited to her back out racing. A very special project we are thrilled to be a part of!
