**Come down to fair.**
Tasmania. Winter. A workshop on the water in Kettering, 30 minutes south of Hobart.
We're looking for a qualified shipwright to join us from June 2026. No production line. Just good work on wooden boats.
**What we're offering:**
- 6 months casual from June, with the option to stay on if it works
- Hands-on restoration across multiple boats, or sink your teeth into one big job
- A small, serious team in a cracker spot
- Oyster Cove Marina on the D'Entrecasteaux Channel, Bruny Island right across the water
**What we need:**
- Trade-qualified shipwright or boatbuilder (or the equivalent from wherever you're from)
- Solid experience with traditional wooden boat construction and restoration
- Someone who can take a job and run with it
- Hand and power tool competency across all shipwright skills
- Lead shipwright experience is a bonus
This isn't a holiday. It's proper work with proper people. Tasmanian winter is cold, clean air, short days, long evenings, a fire under the stars, and empty beaches. The stuff that reminds you why you picked up tools in the first place.
Australian Working Holiday Visa holders welcome.
**To apply:** Drop us a line with a bit about yourself, what you've built or restored, and when you're available. Photos of your work say more than a CV (but best to include that too).
