$100K IN PRIZES AND GIVEAWAYS ON OFFER FOR BIANCHINI MEMORIAL

Griffith Kart Club is set to turn red, white and green next weekend to honour the memory and Italian heritage of two of its club members who shared the same name.

The Joseph Bianchini Memorial incorporating the Riverina Cup on April 17-19 will be a celebration of the lives of uncle Joseph Bianchini who passed away in 2003 at just 15 years of age from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident, and nephew Joseph, who we lost last August after a brief illness, triggering an outpouring of compassion across the breadth of the Australian Karting community.

Griffith Kart Club President Sam Belardo said that the third running of the Memorial event will take on a whole new meaning to the club after the passing of the younger Joseph last year.

“We’ve run the event twice since 2021, but now it will mean so much more to the club. The two Joseph’s never met, but shared the same name, the same passion, and the same love for karting and raw speed. It’s not about the blue plate or the green plate. It’s about the friendships, the bonds built off track, and the connections between families who share the same love of karting,” said Belardo.

“There’s more than $100k in prizes and giveaways including $3000 cash for the winners, and each entry receives a memorial T-Shirt & festival ticket, so bring your mates, bring the family because this is one of the biggest events we’ve ever put on.”

The Friday night prior to racing will feature a “Little Italy Festival” with pizza, pasta, wine and live music, before random grid racing on the Saturday and Sunday that will guarantee spectacular racing.
Entries for the event are open on KOMP and close Wednesday 15th April.

ALL EYES ON THE TWIN CITIES THIS WEEKEND FOR VICTORIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

The border based twin cities of Albury-Wodonga are set for an influx of Australian karting’s best this weekend to decide winners in the 2026 Victorian Kart Championship.

More than 300 drivers have entered across eleven classes to contest the blue-plate event, and according to Albury Wodonga Kart Club President Sheree Muller, the local drivers are feeling the pressure to perform on their home ground.

“It’s amazing the pressure it puts on our local drivers. They really feel the weight of performing well and representing their club, which is great that it means that much to them,” said Muller.

Despite the unpredictability of the weather forecast, Sheree is excited for the club to host the event after volunteers have worked hard to have everything ready.

“The track looks amazing right now after a lot of hard work from our members. The grass is green, they’ve freshly painted the ripple strips and we’re keen to go racing and host the titles! So whether it’s sunny and warm or rainy and cold, it will still be a great weekend,” said Muller.

Practice begins at 8:00am this Friday April 10, the heat races will be contested on Saturday ahead of the Championship Finals on Sunday. Timing is available on Speedhive all throughout the weekend.

The Albury Wodonga Kart Club is located on Sheathers Road, Wodonga. Admission is free for spectators.

NOTICE: 2026 X30 CNC Inlet Manifold

As many customers may have noticed in the 2026 homologations released earlier in the week a new CNC inlet manifold has been introduced for the X30 engine.

In their constant pursuit of excellence IAME have developed this refined component for improved consistency between engines with its dimensional accuracy while improving the mixture of fuel/air making it easier for drivers to obtain an optimal tune.

As the manifold has now been approved for use pending arrival they have been ordered from IAME via airfreight to expedite their availability to any customers who may want to purchase them.

As the estimated delivery date falls very close to the first round of the AKC the decision has been made to withhold their introduction Australia wide until the 16th March 2026 to avoid the possibility of some competitors being able to obtain them in time for round 1 and some not.

As per the homologation and pictured below the manifold is anodised grey in colour, exclusive to Australia and is a direct replacement for the current cast inlet manifold that may continue to be used indefinitely.

Although no manifolds will be distributed prior to the above release date any competitor found to be using one in competition, however it may have been obtained will be disqualified.
