Step aboard the Preana and step back more than 100 years into an atmosphere of Edwardian opulence as enjoyed by the very wealthy of this gone era. Enjoy delicious morning tea or sip pre dinner drinks in the shady stern cockpit, taking in the magnificent harbor scenery. Sink into the soft red velvet upholstery of the magnificent main saloon and partake of lunch, dinner or high tea surrounded by the
warm glow of polished rare timbers and glint of brass and silver lit by crystal chandelier. Visit the pleasantly warm engine room and admire a symphony of moving steel and bronze as the century old compound steam engine quietly pushes the vessel towards its destination. The friendly engineer will briefly explain how it all works and answer any questions you may have about the mechanical operation of this historic and unique vessel. A step or two further past the wood burning boiler takes you to where the captain is doing his job and he can tell you almost anything you may with to know about the history of the port of Hobart or of the Preana itself. Location: Departs Sullivan's Cove, Hobart, Tasmania. Times: regular cruises occur on Saturday and Sunday's, starting at 10am. Duration: Morning and Afternoon cruises 1.5 hours; Lunch cruise 2 hour; Dinner cruise (fully catered or Silver service) 3 hours (capacity for dinner is 8 people).
