Do you eat seasonally?

We're well and truly into Autumn - ain't no denying it down here in Tasmania - and with the change in seasons comes a change in seasonal produce. There are sooooooo many reasons to eat seasonal (and local where possible) produce. It's more affordable, local produce results in fewer food miles, it provides variation in your diet and it's is delicious (ever paid $8 for a punnet of flavourless Strawberries in winter ☹️).

There are plenty of food guides out there to help you identify what is in season, but we don’t think you really need them. Here's what we suggest:

🥕 Hit your local farmers market, you’ll only find in-season produce there.

🍐 Join a local food co-op or CSA (community-supported agriculture), and support producers in your local area.

🍎 Take note of what is at the front of the store when you walk into the greengrocer, independent grocer (like an IGA), or supermarket. The produce that’s in season will be plentiful, at the front of the store and likely at a good price.
