🐴🌾 From our family to yours — welcome to Mooney’s Hay 🌾🐴

At Mooney’s Hay, we’re proud to be a family owned and family run business, built on hard work, quality feed, and genuine care for the animals eating it. ❤️

With little Pip keeping watch over the hay stacks, every bale that leaves our paddock is selected with quality, nutrition, and consistency in mind. Whether you’re feeding performance horses, beloved ponies, cattle, or livestock — we know how important good feed really is.

✔️ Premium quality hay
✔️ Nutritious and consistent feed
✔️ Clean, fresh & purpose grown
✔️ Horse and livestock focused
✔️ Locally grown with care

From the paddock to your shed, we treat every bale like it’s feeding our own animals — because that’s exactly how Mooney’s Hay began. 🌾

Thank you for supporting local, family-run farming. We truly appreciate every single customer who trusts us to help feed their animals. 🤎

From sunrise to sunset—sometimes both—Cooper’s on the road, hauling Mooneys’ finest hay right to your feed room or shed.

From our family paddock to your doorstep, quality never stops—even after dark.

No matter how long the hours stretch, we roll on with the same care and quality every time.

Like Cooper says, we just keep on truckin’.

1kg Is 1kg… but looks can be deceiving! 👀

With the season running tight, many are turning to lower cost feeds, but when it comes to nutrition, it’s not just about price.

That’s why it’s crucial to feed by weight, not by volume. ⚖️

This image shows 1kg of each product. Same weight, very different size, very different density.

MultiCube hay cubes and compressed hay deliver consistent quality, feed-tested, reliable fibre and protein.

With the colder weather setting in and hay supplies becoming shorter, we’ve had a lot of people asking about the difference between awned vs awnless — or bearded vs non-bearded hay.

So, below is a photo to help explain the difference 👇

The wheat head on the left is awnless (beardless) wheaten hay — this is the variety considered safe and more suitable for horses due to its softer texture and lack of the beard on the end of the grain heads. 🐴

The wheat head on the right is awned (bearded) wheaten hay — this variety has the beard-like awns and is extremely safe and commonly fed to cattle, sheep, and other livestock. 🐄🐑

Both are excellent quality hays, however they are grown and used for different purposes:

• Awnless wheaten is generally a softer feed wheat, making it the preferred choice for horses.

• Awned wheaten is typically a harder wheat variety, often grown for milling into flour and widely used as a quality livestock hay.

Hopefully this helps everyone better understand the difference when choosing hay this season 🌾

🌾 Updated Price List – MAY 2026 🌾
NEW SEASON HAY IS HERE! 🙌🏻

At Mooneys Hay, we’re proud to offer top-quality hay at affordable prices — because your horses deserve the very best. 💚

We specialise in making hay on our farm and offer hay in Small Squares, Round Bales & Large Squares!

Around 90% of our hay is sown, grown, fertilised, mowed, raked, and baled right here by us, with the remaining 10% carefully sourced when demand is high. Every bale represents countless hours of work to deliver a premium product straight to your horse’s mouth! 🐴✨

We offer a variety of hay options to suit every need — from performance horses to pleasure horses, and even those with metabolic conditions such as EMS, Cushings, Laminitis, or IR.

As a family-owned and operated business, we love giving our customers the chance to buy direct from the farmer 👨‍🌾 and know exactly where their hay comes from.

🚜 Keep an eye out for our upcoming hay runs, or message us to organise delivery to a new area!
