Fun Fact:
Soldier crabs come out in the hundreds at low tide on the sandbars and mudflats near Bill's, right at the northern end of the Passage. They're small, blue-grey, and they move together in these odd little sideways armies across the wet sand, sometimes disappearing in a blink if something spooks them. It's the kind of thing kids stop and stare at, and adults do too if they're honest. You can spot them easily from a kayak or paddle board gliding past the sandbars, or hop off the pontoon boat at low tide and get up close.
