Goodbye to the Queen of the Sky’s! A day that will be remembered in the history of aviation.

The first Qantas 747 took off from Brisbane 49 years ago and the last will take to Brisbane’s skies today for our 747 farewell joy flight.

Around 10.15am we’ll take-off to the south passing west of the CBD, flying over the Brisbane River and tracking out towards The Gabba, then heading back to pass over the northern suburbs and flying south towards South Stradbroke Island to skim along the Gold Coast, passing Broadbeach. She’ll loop back around Kingscliff to return north along the coast and up to Bribie Island before returning back to Brisbane Airport from the north to touch down around 11.30am.
