💙This World Ocean Day, we’re encouraging our community of boat owners, crew, and marine professionals to take simple but powerful steps to protect the waters we all depend on.

Responsible boating isn’t complicated—but it does require awareness and consistency. Every decision we make on the water has an impact.

⚓ Here’s how we can all make a difference:

✔️ Dispose of waste correctly
Never throw rubbish, plastics, or fishing lines overboard. Even small items can harm marine life and ecosystems.

✔️ Choose eco-friendly products
Use biodegradable, non-toxic cleaning products to reduce harmful chemicals entering our waterways.

✔️ Prevent fuel and oil spills
Take extra care when refuelling and maintaining your vessel. A single spill can have lasting effects on marine habitats.

✔️ Maintain your vessel
A well-maintained boat is safer and cleaner. Regular servicing helps prevent leaks, emissions, and environmental damage.

✔️ Respect marine life and habitats
Keep a safe distance from wildlife, avoid sensitive areas, and always operate at appropriate speeds.

The truth is—protecting our oceans isn’t about one big change. It’s about thousands of small, responsible actions taken every day by people who care.
At GCCM, we’re proud to support a marine community that understands the importance of preserving our waterways for future generations 🌎

This World Ocean Day, let’s commit to doing our part—on the water and beyond.

Precision in motion at GCCM

Our yard crew delivered a masterclass in boat handling as the 100-ft Wild Thing 100 was carefully repositioned on her custom cradle across the hardstand—like threading a needle.

With Theo's help, the Big Lift team made it look easy, expertly manoeuvring Queensland’s only 100-ft racing yacht with her 5.2m keel back into position.

Now we wait for the next big tide before she returns to the water 🌊

Wild Thing 100 is scheduled to compete in the GCCM Gold Coast to Mackay Yacht Race, departing Surfers Paradise on 20 July. Spectators are encouraged to witness the start off Cavill Avenue, where the fleet’s spinnaker hoists promise a spectacular display of offshore racing at its finest.

Don’t miss the iconic spinnaker start off Cavill Avenue—it’s one for the bucket list ⛵🔥
