π Happy World Ocean Day 2026 π
Today, we celebrate the oceans that connect us to some of the world's most extraordinary wildlife.
Did you know that the Gold Coast is part of the famous Humpback Highway?
Every year, thousands of humpback whales migrate along Australia's east coast, travelling between Antarctica and the warmer breeding waters of Queensland. This incredible journey makes the Gold Coast one of Australia's most remarkable whale watching destinations.
Even more inspiring, humpback whales are one of the world's great conservation success stories. Once driven close to extinction by commercial whaling, their population along Australia's east coast has recovered to more than 35,000 whales thanks to decades of conservation and ocean protection.
Every whale sighting is a reminder that protecting our oceans truly makes a difference.
As we celebrate World Ocean Day, let's continue supporting healthy oceans so future generations can experience these magnificent creatures for years to come.
π Whale Watching Season is now underway on the Gold Coast.
Join us aboard and experience the annual humpback whale migration firsthand.
