Well all official now, Hot Wheels Haulage is now put back on the shelf, 2 weeks ago I sold the car carrier and today I handed the keys back to my workshop.

Time to just chill on some wages and see where it takes me.

HAPPY 7th BIRTHDAY
HOT WHEELS HAULAGE

7 years ago I grabbed the keys to my very first truck a 2013 FH13 Volvo prime mover, I started as a tow operator towing another company’s trailers, 3 months later I purchased my own 2004 freighter tautliner B/d set.

things started to take off very busy which moved me to buying a 2012 k200 big cab prime mover in may 2018, decided the old work Ute needed an upgrade as well and then came the brand new triton.

2nd truck needed trailers so bought some red 2002 vawdrey tautliners in June 2018, I was hiring a truck at the time and decided I liked it enough to buy it outright so in June 2018 I purchased the 2007 K104b prime mover.

So now obviously having 3 trucks I also needed another set of trailers šŸ˜‚ so purchased the 2007 OPhee B/D drop deck set in September 2018.

Things were going well untill November when I lost my licence, it got hard around Christmas and then I decided it was time to downsize, selling the K104b first in march 2019 then the K200 in April 2019.

Going back to one truck but with multiple trailers I decided to explore subcontractors things were working very well, I upgraded the triton to a brand new ranger in June 2019.

November 2019 things got interesting I decided to invest more into my business and purchased a 2007 Manitou telehandler, brand new 26,000L water tanker and pre ordered a brand new set of Barker trailers to arrive in 2020, I spent all my capital savings while doing this.

I also fu**ed up in November 2019 by flipping my Volvo putting me into the hospital and unable to work till January 2020, meanwhile I purchased a 2016 FH16 globetrotter Volvo to replace the crashed one under insurance, I went back to work and struggled to get ahead with all my assets on finance, my 2020 barker set arrived late February and Covid hit in march, sending the world into a spiral.

I battled through for 6 months then decided it was time to start selling my trailers and gear, first was the water tanker and freighter set, then the ophee drop decks, followed by the telehandler. I kept the vawdry and barker set till 2021 till I was involved in a fatality which brought me into hardship again then I offloaded the vawdry set leaving me with the Volvo, barker set and ranger.

The end of 2021 I felt exhausted just seemed to hate life and wanted to be with my family so I ended up selling my Volvo and barker set at a profit which allowed me to put my business on hold.

Fast track to 2023 I had the itch to go back out on the road, I traded in my ranger and brought the 2018 UD truck and trailer and started all over, things were going good until I lost my licence again but I got through that and then a few mechanical issues, so the truck is being repaired for the last couple months while I work for another company.

But after all this, I’m proud to say even with rumours, I didn’t go ā€œbrokeā€ I didn’t go ā€œbankruptā€ I got up everyday and tried my best, it’s still the exact same company from the start it’s still me trying my best to figure out what works and what doesn’t to succeed. Sure I’ve had hurdles sure I’ve come into cashflow problems but I’m still here, I’m still operating, I’m still paying bills and earning money.

So happy fu***ng birthday to HWH let’s see how many more years we can celebrate
