Vietnam Entry Update – Tan Son Nhat Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) & Phu Quoc International Airport

UPDATED 29 MAY 2026
To help streamline and speed up the immigration process, foreign travellers and overseas Vietnamese entering Vietnam are now required to complete a pre-arrival declaration when arriving internationally at:

• Tan Son Nhat Airport (Ho Chi Minh City)
• Phu Quoc International Airport

Who it applies to:
• All foreign passport holders entering at Tan Son Nhat Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) & Phu Quoc International Airport
• Overseas Vietnamese travelling on a visa

Who it doesn’t apply to:
• Vietnamese passport holders
• Transit passengers

What to do:
Complete your declaration via:
https://prearrival.immigration.gov.vn/

Alternatively, scan the QR code at immigration on arrival.

Our recommendation:
Complete this shortly before departure to ensure a smooth arrival experience.

Note:
• The declaration can only be completed within 2 days prior to arrival
• Currently applicable for Ho Chi Minh City only
• As this is a new government implementation, procedures are not yet fully consistent while system is being tested.

Our group left Hanoi for an overnight cruise on the stunning Halong Bay. We spent the day kayaking, squidding and of course eating... Up early to do a morning Tai Chi class.

The past couple of days have been an incredible journey, with a vintage Vespa tour unveiling the charm of Hoi An's countryside, vibrant markets, and skilled tailors crafting handmade clothing, followed by lively drinks and music at the Kangaroo bar, and a wonderful catch-up with Nguyễn Hoài Thu, before boarding a flight to Hanoi today, and now unwinding at the hotel, feeling refreshed and inspired.

Today our group had a day to explore Hoi An, and explore we did... Markets, lanterns, rivers and the pool

Today we left Ba Na Hills and headed to Hoi An via Marble Mountain. We had an early start but another amazing day was had by everyone. We attended the well known Red Bridge Cooking School to learn how to cook some deliciously easy recipes. Back to the hotel for some well earned down time.

Our group left Hue to travel to Ba Na Hills. On the way we visited a gorgeous village who grow oysters to sell pearls. A few items were purchased 🤣 We then continued via the Hai Van Pass to our destination. The cable car ride and the view from the top is amazing. On to Hoi An today.

Today Julie and her group took on the imperial city of Hue. They visited the beautiful Citadel, the Emperors Mausoleum, incense markets and lunch at a beautiful Pagoda. The day was finished with a well needed swim to cool off, a sneaky massage and a wander through the beautiful streets.

Day 2 of Julie's group tour was spent visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels via speedboat, which was a great experience, very informative followed by a banquet lunch. After a very rainy trip home the afternoon was spent enjoying happy hourly before our back of the bike food tour in Ho Chi Minh City. Such a great day
