Jan drove to the hangar last night to help the crew pack up after a medevac mission.
While waiting for the flight to land, he couldn't resist trying his hand at night photography (using his fancy iPhone) during the full moonrise.

Welcome, Russell!

We’re pleased to welcome Russell to the Avcair team in Karratha.

Russell brings a wealth of experience from both military and civilian aviation. He spent almost 16 years in the Australian Defence Force, including serving as an Aircrewman on the CH-47F Chinook, before transitioning to commercial aviation.

In true Avcair tradition, today we bid farewell to Mitch on his last day of duty with us.

As with many young pilots in this industry, Mitch is moving on to bigger and better aircraft as he takes the next step in his aviation career.

Mitch, although you will be missed, on behalf of everyone at Avcair Karratha, we wish you all the very best for your future endeavours in the aviation industry. Thank you for all the hard work, dedication, and support you have contributed to the base during your time here — it certainly has not gone unnoticed.

Not only have you played an important role in keeping the base running smoothly, but you have also helped improve the base itself and leave it in a better place than you found it.

We appreciate everything you have done and wish you safe flying and every success in the future.

We had a beautiful sunset on the flight to Perth from Barrow Island this afternoon. The approach was quite bumpy however due to the weather round, and we arrived in Perth with cold, wet and windy conditions.

After the patient was handed over to St John's Ambulance, the crew enjoyed a nice meal from Nando's (minus the chips 🥲) , and returned to Karratha with a full moon.

Jan attempted some night photography on the way back using his fancy iPhone 😀

Our crew had a delay on Barrow Island this afternoon while waiting for a patient to arrive from the clinic. While waiting they took the opportunity to show off some fancy poses in a photo shoot on the ramp.
