Brisbane Bus Lines Announces sale to Kangaroo Bus Lines, ensuring the Family Legacy lives on

Brisbane Bus Lines (BBL) is proud to announce its sale to Kangaroo Bus Lines (KBL), marking a significant milestone for two of Queensland’s most recognised and respected multi-generational, family-owned transport businesses. This sale is still subject to Translink consent.

Permanent Service Update from Monday 16/03/26: Afternoon Pickup Location for Mt Maria Petrie / Our Lady of the Way

Please note that from Monday 16 March 2026, the afternoon pick-up location for Mt Maria Petrie & Our Lady Of The Way students will change.

Current location: School Rotunda
New location: 30 Young Street (indent) – the same location used for morning drop-off.

The timetabled departure time remains the same at 3.20pm

This change is required for operational reasons as we work to balance student passenger numbers across our services.

From Monday, School Bus 41 will operate with a 75-seater articulated bus, which is too large to access the school rotunda.

School Bus 41 will then continue along Dayboro Road, connecting with the following services for student transfers:

School Bus 42 – Genesis and Bray Park service
School Bus 46 – St Paul’s / Petrie Primary service

This update will also be shared on our Website and via push notifications in the TransportMe app.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to ensure students are transported safely.

📣 Changing How We’ll Communicate Temporary Service Changes

Effective immediately:
• Temporary service changes (e.g. bus delays, cancellations or short-term adjustments including service combinations) will no longer be communicated by mass email, website posts, or Facebook posts.
• These temporary changes will now be sent only as push notifications through the TransportME Passenger App to users who have enabled notifications, are tracking the service/s impacted and set us as their favourite operator in the app.
• We will still send a summary of Temporary Service Changes to schools via email for their information.

Permanent service changes (e.g. published timetable changes, new routes, long-term adjustments) will continue to be communicated via:
• Email
• Our Website
• Facebook
• Push notification with a recommendation to review details online
This new approach is designed to put important service alerts straight into your hands instantly and reduce delays in you receiving key information or receiving information not applicable to your child/ren travel requirements.

✅ How to Receive Push Notifications in the TransportME App

Please follow the steps below to ensure you will receive temporary service change alerts:

1️⃣ Install and Allow Notifications
• After installing the TransportME Passenger App, allow push notifications when prompted.
• If you missed this step:
o iPhone (iOS): Go to Settings > Notifications > TransportME app and turn Allow Notifications ON.
o Android: Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > TransportME app > Notifications and ensure notifications are allowed.

2️⃣ Set Your Favourite Operator
To receive push notifications from Brisbane Bus Lines:
1. Open the TransportME app and log in (if required).
2. If you haven’t already, select Brisbane Bus Lines as a favourite operator under the Favourite Operator menu
3. Next, tap Settings (bottom menu).
4. Under Favourite Operator, select our operator name.
5. Turn on the toggle for “Receive Push Notifications.”
This allows our messages — including temporary service change alerts — to be delivered directly to your device.

3️⃣ Check Notification Settings in App
• Within Settings you can also manage other useful notifications (e.g., bus delays, smartcard low balance alerts), but the critical one for service change alerts is Receive Push Notifications from Favourite Operator.

Afternoon Service Combination

A single bus will operate as a combined service covering both routes.

School Bus 42 will load all students from Bray Park State High School and will then stop at Genesis Christian College and pick up any passengers who would usually catch School Bus 43.

School Bus 42 will then connect with School Bus 41 at the Kurwongbah Pump Station so that any standing passengers can transfer and be seated through to Dayboro.
For parents and students tracking this service via the TransportMe app – the service will be trackable as School Bus 42 PM.

Afternoon Service Combination
• School Bus 11 PM
• School Bus 58 PM
A single bus will operate as a combined service covering both routes.

This will mean a late running of the service from Patricks Road State School through to Bunya this afternoon.

The service will begin as School Bus 58 and pick up students at the regular times at Mitchelton State High School, St Williams, Grovely State School, and Ferny Hills State School.

After that, the bus will change the number displayed to School Bus 11 and divert to collect students from St Andrews, Ferny Grove State School, and Ferny Grove SHS, and Ferny Grove Station – the bus number change will avoid student confusion at these school bus stops.

After departing Ferny Grove Station, the service will then revert its display back to School Bus 58 and collect students from Patricks Road State School, approx. 15 minutes later than normal.
All students will therefore arrive home slightly later than normal this afternoon.

At Tramway Street, all students who would normally travel onward on School Bus 77 are to transfer onto School Bus 17. School Bus 17 will then travel as per normal service through to Woods Road. From Woods Road, School Bus 17 will continue onto Andrew Road as per School Bus 77 and thereafter continue through to Dayboro as per School Bus 17’s route. Parents are encouraged to use the TransportMe app to track both School Bus 17 and School Bus 77.
