The Autumn show season is in full swing, with Sydney show just finished for the cattle and steers. There are numerous other shows occurring throughout April and May and we encourage you to attend, enter and support your local rural communities.

Galloways Australia will have members and schools showing at Hawksbury Show, Wingham Beef Week and Bathurst Show.

You are not too late to enter already registered animals into most of these competitions.

The Association will also have an exhibition site at Tocal Field Days

Later, on this year Melbourne show will also have members showing.

And remember your association is here to provide you advice and support so reach out if you need to have a chat.

Longford Show Saturday 18th October, 2025. Not only was the day sunshine perfect and wind free but the sheep shed was literally brimming over with a marvellous selection of British breeds representing ASSBA's centenary a good representation of other breeds and an exceptionally large, (57 in total), turnout of Hampshire Downs - the feature breed. The competition was on! Marananga Hampshire Downs certainly saw some success winning - Reserve Champion Ram, Champion and Reserve Champion Ewe. 1st in the Group of Three, 1st and 2nd in Sires Progeny, Most Successful Exhibitor in the Hampshire Downs, Marananga Suffolks were also successful being awarded 1st in the Suffolk Ewe under 1 1/2 yrs, 1st in the Suffolk Sires Progeny and Best Presented Interbreed Sheep in Wool. Thank you and congratulations to all competitors, a big thank you to our helpers young and old and in particular our super star young handlers - Imogen, Alexis, Cooper and Jack.

So pleased with our new lambing shed which is now fully functional and has had approximately 80 Hampshire Down and 20 Suffolk ewes and lambs enjoy new accommodation so far and a new TV! Lamping starts to slow down in September so we have quite a few still to come through the new doors!
