Next up in our crew showcase is Anthony, who has spent 24 years onboard as a Cook! 🍽

For Anthony, it’s the people and friendships that have made the journey so memorable - along with one particular sailing!

“One memory that really stands out was the Ship Box Rally, when the entire ship was booked for the event finishing in Hobart. The whole crew and passengers got into the spirit of the night, dressing up as pirates, cartoon and TV characters — we even had Batman, who happened to be the charity’s general mechanic!” 🦇

A night to remember, and a lovely example of the fun and camaraderie shared onboard.

“As we move on to the next chapter and new ships, I’ll always look back fondly on the people, friendships and memories that have made the last 24 years so worthwhile.”

Thank you, Anthony! Here’s to more friendships, laughs and memories in the next chapter. 💛

Next up in our crew showcase is Georgia, who has been part of our Spirit of Tasmania team for 23 years.

🚢 Favourite memories:

"A major highlight of my time here, was sailing Spirit IV back from Gibraltar to Fremantle. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and something I’ll never forget.

Another moment that really stands out was seeing how many Tasmanians turned up early in the morning to watch Spirit IV sail into Devonport. It was incredible to see the excitement and pride from the community as they welcomed the new vessel home."

😁 What are you excited about for the new ships?

"I can sense the excitement already and I’m really looking forward to being part of this new generation".

Thank you, Georgia!

Next up in our crew showcase is Jess, who has been part of our Spirit of Tasmania team for 15 years.

🚢 Favourite memories of the current vessels:

"I’ll never forget the excitement and nerves of walking onto the vessel as a new crew member for the first time. Growing up in Devonport and seeing the big red ships come and go each day, I was very proud to be part of something so recognisable in my home town.

The best part about working on the ships has been the people you meet. From passengers to the crew you work and live with, everyone quickly becomes like family. We’re one big, crazy family who always have each other’s backs.

One memory that really stands out was taking part in the World’s Greatest Shave. A group of us, including the Captain, shaved our heads to raise money for the Cancer Council and get passengers involved. It’s something I’m very proud of, and something that wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t worked for Spirit."

😀 What are you excited about for the new ships?

"I think the new ships will rejuvenate the crew. With updated facilities and brand-new working areas, we’re all excited to start onboard and show them off. They’re something we can be very proud of."

Thank you, Jess, for 15 years of memories and spirit.
